Ingredients

4-5 cloves garlic (chopped) 1 pound of spaghetti or linguini 1 28-32 oz can of crushed tomatoes 1tsp basil 1tsp oregano |
1tsp salt 1tsp pepper 2 tbsp olive oil 1/2 cup red wine or beer (optional) |

Instructions
Wash mussels thoroughly,discarding any dead mussels.
Set aside in bowl in the refrigerator. Drain off excess water.
Place spaghetti or linguini in a large pot of boiling, salted water.
In a separate pot on medium heat, add olive oil, garlic, crushed tomatoes and spices. Cook covered for 5 minutes.
Uncover sauce and add wine or beer if desired.
Carfully add mussels and avoid splashing into the sauce. (It’s Hot !)
Cover and turn heat to high and cook another 6-7 minutes or until all the mussels are open.
Drain the pasta and add some of the sauce to prevent sticking.
Place pasta in large bowl and pour the contents of the pot containing the mussels on top.
